There's No Place Like Rome (The Wizard of Oz meets the Pope kind of thing...) Date you joined the Order? December 1987. The first Sister publically elevated and veiled. What is your occupation? I am the Art Director for Hot House Entertainment. I'm also the co-host of The Tim and Roma Show, a live-format talk show about the adult entertainment industry. Date of birth? December 22nd. Capricorn/Sagitarius Cusp Hometown? ...in San Francisco, where I've lived for more than 20 years. When did you discover your calling? In 1987. I saw a small group of people (only six fully professed members) who were making the world a better place. I realized that I was interested in the same things the Sisters were: Freedom of Speech and Expression, Human Rights and winning the battle against AIDS. I never thought that I'd do drag, let alone become a Nun, but there was no denying it... I embraced the costume, the makeup, the jewelry... it felt then and continues to feel quite natural. There's no way I could NOT be Sister Roma, that's why I know it's a 'calling.' Sponsor in the Order? Sister Lucious Lashes Why did you join? I joined because I need to know that my life wasn't in vain. I joined to make a difference. I joined to fight for and defend my innate human rights, as well as the rights of everyone on the planet, regardless of sex, age, color, race, religion, sexual orientation or choice of peanut butter. I joined to raise money for the fight against AIDS. I joined to spread universal joy and expiate stigmatic guilt. I joined to reach out to people and to help them understand and love themselves, and ultimately, each other. Religious beliefs (if any)? I believe in spirituality, love, compassion, understanding and respect. I believe there's more to life than what we experience here and when we die a lot of questions will be answered. Until then, follow your heart, your mind and your soul. Major projects with the Order? I've been on the Board and worked on too many events, projects and presentations to count. I created the 'Stop the Violence' window placcard campaign that evolved into our whistle distribution (anti gay bashing projects). I've always been one of the most visible nuns, including being a published columnist and acting as the MC for gay pride, the folsom street fair and Halloween, to name a few. I have always tried to be a good respresentative of my sisters and the Order. Goals and Aspirations? Many. Personally, I want to be on the cover of Vanity Fair. Rules by which I believe?
