Who are the Sisters?

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence® is a leading-edge Order of queer nuns. Since our first appearance in San Francisco on Easter Sunday, 1979, the Sisters have devoted ourselves to community service, ministry and outreach to those on the edges, and to promoting human rights, respect for diversity and spiritual enlightenment. We believe all people have a right to express their unique joy and beauty and we use humor and irreverent wit to expose the forces of bigotry, complacency and guilt that chain the human spirit.

Join us for a sultry evening of searing testimonials and sizzling tributes as the Sisters roast their very own Sister Roma! This year, 2012, marks Sr. Roma's 25th anniversary of expiating stigmatic guilt and promulgating universal joy with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Sr. Roma is also acclaimed as the 2012 Individual Grand Marshall in the SF Pride Parade. This event will benefit Tenderlion Tessie Holiday Dinners and The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence's Stop The Violence Campaign. Ignite your hottest look and help us Roast Sister Roma and then bring your ticket for free admission to PORNFEST, the official after party for the Roma Roast, hosted by Heklina with DJ Chi Chi LaRue at Rebel, 1760 Market Street.
